![]() And the Tea Nut Salad? It came in a long champagne flute with garlic chunks at the bottom, floating in insipid rosemary water and carrot slices! Rendered us speechless! Not in a good way though.Įntree: The headlining act was the Rogan Josh Penne. The fish was neither spicy, tangy or Indian as the menu claimed. Soft, lemony fish – not fresh but plenty fishy! The taste buds were being walloped here. Well, man lives in hope… so, we tried the Lemon ‘n’ Chilly Fish with Green Tea Nut Salad. Needless to say, the dish was deserted quickly. And to go with it, a cold marinated-in-salt- Caesar’s Salad further blemished by extensive use of Parmesan cheese. Next, Chicken Tikka Caesar’s Salad with Gol-Gol Malai Tikka – chunks of fried chicken (gives a good workout for the biceps) with coarse, patchy masala (not-so-good for the taste buds). While the thought of hot and cold combination was commendable, the flavours rear-ended and fell short. Accompanying it was a cold and featureless Corn Cheese Crunchy Lettuce Salad. But the ‘fusion’ simply didn’t translate well on the menu – it was confusing.Īppetiser: We started with Sweet Chilly Mushroom Shashlik with Corn and Cheese Salad – supple mushrooms, onions and zucchini tossed in a sweet South Asian sauce with a dash of chilli that didn’t add much heat. He was the lone waiter for the evening! Unable to comprehend it, we buried our already-crestfallen faces in the menu: soups, starters, main courses, desserts and sundry others aimed to give you a ‘fusion food’ experience. The menu didn’t surprise us, but the waiter did. Then the imperfections jump at you: the random posters, an empty showcase on the central wall with nothing ‘to show’ other than a few ‘for-show-wine-bottles’…the air was punctured with incompleteness and that made us head back to the easy-breezy outdoors.Īs we made ourselves comfortable, we were handed the menu by a waiter. ![]() You step inside and it’s rigid with heavy wooden chairs and tables covered with red sheets. The Mediterranean feel is conveyed through white-washed walls and a medley of framed pictures – easy-breezy. Still, one has to push against reluctance to enjoy an ‘experience’.
